What makes a perfume not vegan
Traditional perfume has leaned on animal ingredients for centuries. A few you may have heard of:
- Musk — originally from deer.
- Ambergris — from whales.
- Civet — from wild cats.
- Castoreum — from beavers.
- Beeswax and honey — from bees.
These were used to make a scent richer and help it last. The problem is obvious: they come from animals.
What vegan perfume uses instead
